This presentation will discuss the principles and practices that guide psychological intervention with sports injuries in youth soccer players and encourages a psychological approach to injury rehabilitation for professionals working within sport. Returning to sport following injury is typically a main concern of injured players, however players’ physical and psychological readiness to return after injury do not always coincide. This presentation aims to introduce key psychosocial considerations during sports injury rehabilitation and subsequently share practice around how physical and psychological rehabilitation can be intertwined.
