Academy Management Team and Head of Education and Player Welfare For A Championship Team

A former academy footballer for Brighton and Hove Albion FC for 8 years, which ended and led to an education career.
Steve was short-listed for The National Teacher of the Year Award in 2008 and been an Assistant Headteacher of two failing large inner London Secondary Schools with responsibility for whole school Teaching and Learning which involved coaching and mentoring colleagues and adding value to teaching pedagogy across several academic faculties.

Steve qualified as an Advanced Skills Teacher in 2006 and specialised in:

Elitism in Physical Education,
Behaviour for Learning
Assessment for Learning

whilst also advising the government on good practice on behaviour in the process.

Mentoring and coaching hundreds of teachers in the 17 years was a passion, thus raising outcomes through effective teaching and learning strategies. Strategic and operational improvement throughout my career was significant.
Steve was a Senior Lecturer of Physical Education at the University of East London between 2009-12, and have guest lectured on topics such as “Leadership” at Universities across the UK. These included The Institute of Education, Brighton University and UEA. Steve holds an MA in Teaching, Learning and Leadership from Kings College London and is founder of solutionsmindset.com

Steve is heavily involved in ensuring players and coaches across his institution fulfill their personal and professional objectives. This includes daily discussions with playing and coaching staff about how to improve learning, delivery, the reflective process, and accelerated learning techniques but also supporting staff and players in achieving outstanding outcomes in every facet of their roles.
This has led to Steve writing a book about teaching, learning, leadership and elite sport due to be published in December 2017. Steve has been offered a PhD is sport psychology and is awaiting sponsorship.
